And we are off....our flight took off at 6:50am and arrived in Chicago around 8:45ish. When we landed it was 12 degrees....how fitting for 12/12/08! Very cold would not really do it justice...but we persevered. We got an early check in and then off to check out the town.
Our first stop, Gino's East for some yummy, yummy Deep dish pizza. It was spicy, cheesy, hot and good! We didn't realize that a Chicago pizza takes about an hour to cook -- so our next meal at Oprah's chefs restaurant ( Table 52) that we had reservations for 3 months ago -- was not as appealing as it should have been. The food was good but not the best meal of our trip.
After dinner we had tickets, great tickets, to see WICKED. It was enjoyed by both of us and highlight of the trip.
Taken in the theater right before the production started.The next day we went to the The museum of Surgical Science (being a surgical nurse) and some great eateries and we did some shopping. Because of the cold we didn't do as much as we would have in better weather...but it will give us something to do the next visit. Just a few more pictures from Saturday... First to Lego World and a visit with Lego Man....

Too bad it was so cold, but I'm glad you all didn't let the cold slow you down. Looks like you all had a great time...I will definitely have to put Chicago on my list of places to visit! Happy 40th!
Happy Belated Birthday Natalie! It looks like yall had a great trip! That pizza looks super yummy, and I don't even like cheese! We got the ornaments off Ebay. They were around $8 each. Hope you had a great Christmas!

Your trip looks and sounds wonderful (in spite of the cold).
I heard (from Alisha and Corrie) that it has been in the 70s there. We'll be home soon and I don't know if I'm ready for such balmy weather after two weeks in a winter wonderland.

Happy 40th Birthday!!! Even though it was so cold, how great to make a trip to Chicago. I like April, am drawn to the picture of that pizza. Maybe it's the pregnancy thing :) I would love to get to see you sometime soon!
